A Destination for Outdoor Enthusiasts
East Rock is a New Haven neighborhood with a large population of Yale University faculty, students and staff and is also home to many young professionals and families.
Named for the trap rock ridge of East Rock, this neighborhood neighbors Hamden on the North and is easy to access via Interstate 91 from exits 3 through 6.
A focal point of the neighborhood is East Rock Park which extends into neighboring Hamden as well. The 425-acre park is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It is a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban neighborhoods below. The park is also home to the Trowbridge Environmental Center.
