Unique Architecture & Cultural Activities
One of the most sought after New Haven neighborhoods, Wooster Square is coveted for its proximity to downtown and its stunning assortment of cultural activities, delicious eateries and unique historic significance.
The neighborhood gets its name from the Wooster Square Park which was named for General David Wooster who served as an American Revolutionary War hero. It was once close to the harbor, but after harbor filling it remains more of a stones throw to New Haven harbor.
One of the most unique and interesting pieces of Wooster Square is the architecture which has hints of Federal, Greek Revival, Islamic Revival and Italian Villa styles.
